Perfect imperfection cups celebrate the beauty that can often be found in decay and destruction. Inspired by deep charcoal embers, these pieces are wheel-thrown with fractured carvings that contrast with areas of mirror black glaze and intentionally chipped areas of gold luster. They are porcelain coated with thick layers of black slip and hundreds of hand-carved texture lines made with an X-Acto blade. Signed on bottom. Oxidation fired to cone 6 and 018. The base is finished with the K. Allison Ceramics signature.
