pots of gold
lux collection
When I started out in clay, my main inspiration was Scandinavian minimalism. I loved simple, well-crafted forms with quiet, subtle accents. Essentially, anything I might find in my Swedish grandmother’s home. When I began to combine this idea with my playful need to capture nature in unnatural ways, I began venturing into more complex surfaces and organic forms. Initially, my use of gold luster in my work was inspired by the idea of golden sap dripping from my burned charcoal pieces. But my continued use of luster has also brought me back to my minimalist foundations. The gold Lux series is the product of those quieter roots, an in-development collection shaped around my fascination with ink splatters, drippy water, and the graceful forms that began my ceramics journey.
