Is it a giant jack? An amoeba? I’m not sure, but it kind of looks like it’s dancing! This whatchamacallit sculpture was inspired by my love of organic forms. I wanted to create a piece with endless curves and evoke a sense of fluidity in a very solid medium. It’s fabulous as coffee and dining table decor and sparks endless conversation.

Each part of the work, from the center orb to the protrusions, is individually wheel-thrown in porcelain, then altered and attached to create the sculpture. After a bath in clear glaze, I added drippy gold luster. Signed on bottom. Oxidation fired to cone 6 and 018.
