Wild terrain orb vessel, medium 07
4.5h x 4.5w x 2.5w at opening
Wild Terrain vessels are one-of-a-kind statement pieces that pay homage to clay's earthy origins and the raw beauty of the natural world. Handcrafted on the wheel using dark red clay, this vessel is coated with a blend of textured slips, rocks, mica, volcanic ash (from the Katla volcano in Iceland), and Icelandic lava rock in a meticulous process designed to create stunning visual and tactile dimension. Each vessel feels as though it was harvested directly from the Earth itself. Inspired by the breathtaking terrain of Iceland, which has always reminded me of the surface of the moon.
The piece has been carefully scrubbed and sanded to ensure that all aggregates are securely adhered to the surface, creating a rich, textured finish that invites touch.
Glaze on the interior ensures water tightness, but due to the exterior surface this piece should be hand-washed. Please avoid the dishwasher and microwave.
